South West Real Estate: General Information
People who come to the southwest of France generally come for one reason: wine. Bordeaux wine’s name stems from the city around which it was produced, and Bordeaux itself is quite an attractive city, with the historic part of the city a proud member of the UNESCO World Heritage List. There are a number of villas for sale in this area, many situated on many hectares of land with expansive buildings and grounds. Some even have their own forest! The homes here are stunning and a purchase here has turned many dreamers into owners.
- In France, the buyer generally pays the closing fees. These include the notaire (notary) fees, generally from 6 – 8% of the purchase price
- Deposit of 10% usually required
- Once title has been verified and all other conditions fulfilled, buyer and seller will sign the Acte De Vente, which transfers ownership from the seller to the new buyer
